For this photo assignment, we had to take 7 different photos off campus and on campus. To take the photos you need to have 3 completely identical photos but in difference exposure settings. Below are the photo I made for this assignment. I really enjoyed doing this assignment, because it was fun to find different places to take photos with. I also enjoyed playing around with the settings after making an HDR to see what would make the photo look better. Overall this assignment was very enjoyable, and I hope to use it for future assignments.

For my third photo Monday, I decided to do emphasis. Emphasis is when something in a photo is emphasized above other photos. Below is my best photo unedited and edited, followed by my 9 other best. For my third photo assignment I decided to do emphasis. This was a bit of a hard photo Monday, due to the fact that it had been raining all weekend, and there was not much light. So because of this, I decided to use it to my advantage and use an umbrella in the rain to demonstrate emphasis. I also used a light in a low light setting to get the wire inside the bulb to be bright but not so much to the point where you could not see them. I enjoyed this assignment regardless of the struggles I faced, and will use this experience for future assignments.
For this assignment we had to find something that was different from each other, but similar in nature, and we had to take 9 collective photos of the thing, we also had to make two of these typologies. We then had to photoshop them into a 3 by nine frame, Here are the photos I took for this assignment. I really enjoyed this assignment, because it was fun to learn more photoshop techniques that I will be able to use in the future. I did not really find this assignment difficult but rather fun, it was interesting to see what object I could use for the subject. Overall this was a very enjoyable assignment, and I look forward to learning more in the subject of photoshops, and the different techniques used in it.
For our second photo Monday I chose to do Macro. The reason for doing so is that I have always enjoyed taking macro photos in the past. And because I was given the opportunity to choose my own principle of design I decided to choose my favorite. Below you will find my best taken photo with and without a frame, as well as my next ten best. I really enjoyed this assignment because macro has always been my favorite of all the design principles, and it is very interesting to see what I can use for macro. I did not really have any troubles other than the fact that some of the subjects I wanted to use were not very pleasing to the eye, so I had to look for other things I could use. I am especially proud of my favorite photo, because I had always wanted to do an eye macro photo, But I never got the chance to do so. So this assignment was a way of being able to do that.
For this assignment we had to take five photos of any kind of space, then overlap them on photoshop. To take Panoramic's you need to use a tripod, otherwise you may mess up when trying to overlap them. Below are a few of the attempts at trying to overlap photos to create a panoramic. I really enjoyed this assignment, because Panoramic was one of my favorite assignments we did back in Digital 1. And I really enjoyed creating better ones than the ones I had done before. However it was difficult to find a flat enough surface as you can see in the fourth photo, the land scape curved down to the left and left an awkward looking panoramic. Despite this I really enjoyed this assignment, and look forward to making more panoramic's in the future.
For our second assignment we were tasked with putting photos into photoshop, (either old or new ones) and had to put frames around them. The four different frame types we had to use are lasso frame, spray frame, gallery frame, and the gaussian blur frame. Below you will find the photos I used to make frames for on this assignment. From left to right is my favorite versus my least favorite. Gallery FrameLasso FrameGaussian Blur frameSpray Strokes FrameConclusionI thoroughly enjoyed this assignment, though at first it was hard because I struggled on day one and only managed to be able to create 1 frame on a photo. However on the second day I managed to get six frames done, because I had looked at the instructions and re read them a bit so I could remember how to do it. They may not look the greatest, but I am proud of them, because last year photoshop was not my strong suit, however this year I feel like I am finally starting to get the grasp of it.
For my first project back we had to take photos of the different kinds of principles in design used in photography. Below you will find some of the photos I took for this assignment. BalanceDefinition: when different parts of a photo command your attention equally. MovementDefinition: Movement freezes the object in motion, or do the opposite by blurring the subject. Repetition and RhythmDefinition: Gives your photo composition by repeating shapes or objects throughout the picture. EmphasisDefinition: Defined by an area or object that is made to be the main focus of the image. Simplicity (AKA Visual Economy)Definition: A photo with a clear reason why the subject was chosen and placed. ContrastDefinition: Shows a visual difference in the ratios of tones. ProportionDefinition: Comparing The size of objects, or the amount of the object in hole. SpaceDefinition: An area in any photo where your main subject lies. UnityDefinition: Elements in a photo work together to support each other. SummaryI found this assignment particularly hard, because I had to get used to the camera, and all the controls associated with it. I also struggled trying to upload my photos and, photoshopping them. Regardless of my struggles, I enjoyed looking around the school to find objects that would fit the term for principles in design. This assignment helped me to remember rules and how digital photography works, and made me excited for all of the future assignments.
For our first photo Monday we were tasked with taking pictures of things that represent color in photography. Below are some of the photos I took for this assignment. Best photo Unedited Edited Coming back to doing a photo Monday after having not done it in over a year was rather difficult. It took a while for me to get used to the camera settings, and be able to understand shutter speed, and aperture. I also underestimated how many photos I would need to take, so next time I will be sure to have a lot of photos to choose wisely from. However I feel like I am starting to get the hang of it again, and feel that I will be much better in future photo Mondays.
During this trimester I am hoping to improve upon the knowledge that I have already gained from Digital Photography 1. I am very excited to broaden my knowledge in photography, and am hoping to gain a better grasp on the elements that go into this subject. Below this post you shall find some of the assignments that I have completed in the past. I hope that those posts will help you to understand how knowledgable I am on this subject. With all of that said, let us start off the year with some great photos!
My photography journey has been a long one. I would not say it has been a easy one, however i have learned a lot this tri and am very grateful for it. walking in the first day I thought this would be a easy class and it would not be very hard, however I was wrong. Though the class was not hard there were many things that I struggle to do. Following the first week of class we were told about our weekly photo assignments, where every Monday we would turn in a photo that had a specific subject like animal, or food. I had a lot of fun doing these, and felt like I had grown as a photographer.
I started out in this class not knowing much about photography, I was very inexperienced in using a camera and how it worked, but now I have a lot of knowledge about the photography world and I will use it in the future. Though I am still not an expert I believe I have grown immensely while being in this class.
